This is a rear dormer conversion with French doors and a Juliet balcony which has been powder-coated white This is a good example of a rear dormer Apex Loft Conversions built using new slates to tile-hang the exterior. This loft conversion was built in Enfield, North London. This image shows a roof conversion built on a terraced property in Potters Bar, Herts by Apex Loft Conversions. The client asked for a small pitch to be incorporated in the design to take away the ‘box’ look of a normal rear dormer. This is a nice example of a bonnet dormer incorporated into a roof conversion built in Barnet,Herts. A bonnet dormer on a loft conversion on a period property or cottage can make an attractive addition to the roof line. Shown here is a wider than average rear dormer Apex Loft Conversions built in Cheshunt,Herts. The newer style detached property originally had factory made truss roof rafters instead of the traditional cut rafters of many 1930’s built houses. Houses with truss rafters can have loft conversions. This is an image showing a rear dormer loft conversion built off of the rear wall plate of the house in Enfield,North London. By designing the loft conversion this way, it allows more internal space to be gained in the loft both in the bedroom and also the shower-room. This is an example of a rear dormer that was reduced in width to comply with planning permission in Barnet, North London. Notice how the remainder of the roof has a velux roof window installed to provide even more natural light to the loft conversion and that the space inside although under the pitch of the roof is completely useable. This is a rear dormer built on a property in Potters Bar, Herts using the existing roof tiles and using white square-line guttering and downpipe to finish instead of the standard black half-round guttering. These twin bonnet dormers are in a conversion in Harpenden, Herts and are a wonderful example of the look bonnet dormers give to the right style of roof. Another example of bonnet dormers we built on a roof conversion in Cheshunt Hertfordshire. The dormer on the left was the bathroom area, the middle dormer was a study area and the dormer on the right was in the main room. A closer view from the side of rear bonnet dormers. Here you can see the entire dormer has UPVC windows and UPVC soffit and fascia boards for a maintenance free exterior. This shows two larger pitched dormers on a loft conversion in Totteridge, North London. The furthest dormer has a small balcony area that the client can use enclosed by wrought iron work. Above the French doors we have installed glass units to provide more natural light to the room. The closest dormer is part of the bathroom to the loft conversion. This shows how using the existing tiles of the roof can help the rear dormer to blend in as much as possible with the existing roof covering From this view of a rear dormer window the angled tiles used to form the corners of the dormer can be seen. These allow for a neat finish on the corner and maintain the correct bond for the remaining tiles that cover the dormer window. The external view of a rear dormer loft conversion that has French doors and side-lights installed in the bedroom area instead of a window. New tiles were used on the dormer and the entire exterior is maintenance free. A rear dormer window that has had the existing tiles used on the exterior. This image of a rear dormer in Palmers Green, north London shows a small pitch to the top of the dormer rather than the normal flat roof finish seen on most dormers. Here you can see an example of a rear dormer loft conversion in Potters Bar, Herts. Notice the way in which we have used the original slates to make the dormer blend in with the rest of the roof. This is the way most roof conversions are finished externally.
